8th Graders GO ON RETREAT!
On April 24th the 8th Grade Class visited Alemany High School for a retreat. This prepared the 8th grade class for what awaits them in high school. As a class they reflected upon the choices of staying close to their families, friends and God. The 8th grade as a class was able to look into themselves, share with their classmates and appreciate who they had become during their years at St. Elisabeth.
It was a valuable, rewarding experience.

An Afternoon With A St. Elisabeth Graduate...
Joseph Van Wolf, a graduate of St. Elisabeth (Class of 1962) spoke about his father Henry Van Wolf, at the Museum of San Fernando Valley on Saturday, April 14th.
Henry Van Wolf is a famous sculptor. Many of his pieces are part of the San Fernando Valley. The "Fernando" statue stands in front of the Van Nuys Court House.
Joseph Van Wolf has very fond memories of St. Elisabeth and enjoyed hearing about what our school is like today.
St. Elisabeth continues to be an active part of San Fernando Valley history!

Lent Begins
St. Elisabeth students began observing Lent by gathering with their school families on "Fat Tuesday," or "Mardi Gras." Together they learned the meaning and three pillars of
Lenten observance: prayer, fasting and almsgiving.
All students reflected on what they would give up for Lent and signed a "promise" or contract that was also shared with their parents. The School Family activity culminated in the creation of a poster representing what each student will sacrifice for Lent.
All students will assemble and participate in prayer and The Stations of the Cross every Friday.
